Testing 1, 2, 3

If I still have subscribed readers then I'm guessing this post catches you by surprise. 1 year ago my regular blogging went out the window. So many times I've wanted to blog, get my thoughts out logically, and keep writing. But it's been so hard to figure out the transition of where my blog had been going and the direction it will take now. If my regular readers are still out there, a lot will not make sense - other than the drastic changes in my life will probably account for my silence in the blogosphere.

I was tempted to do one of three things. 1) Not blog again. 2) Erase previous posts like I used to tear out pages from my journal when I was a kid and then move forward. 3) leave this blog to history and start a different one.

Instead I think I'm going to do the brave thing and just pick up the pieces and keep blogging here. If you feel so inclined as to peruse my past posts feel free to do so. I'll give a few details to help clarify much of the new information in future posts and hopefully help make sense of the different direction. I'm sure some may have questions. Feel free to ask. I may or may not answer depending on the difficulty.

My life in a nutshell right now...

  1. I'm a single mom to 5 wonderful kids
  2. I'm working full time as a receptionist
  3. I'm working 1 class at a time towards my associates in liberal arts.
  4. My oldest son was diagnosed with Aspergers earlier in the year (I can't remember if I blogged about finally getting an official diagnosis)
  5. My kids are starting their school year at our local public school, I have a 2nd grade, a Kindergarten, and a Pre-K student. The 3 year old left at home thinks it's terribly unjust he has to wait another year before starting pre-K.
  6. The current activity consuming our time is football that my oldest is playing, the Kindergartener is a cheerleader for his team. The younger siblings are dutifully learning all the cheers to also cheer along their big brother at his games.
  7. I have a handful of other big things I'm just not ready to post about yet
  8. My crockpot is still a big lifesaver and I'm still trying to utilize it more. I'm toying with the idea of one to start a breakfast cooking overnight. And one for starting dinner either the night before or in the morning. I love slow cooking.
  9. My dog still plays good dog/bad dog and I find myself thinking he's much craftier than he lets on.
  10. My kids are still gluten free.

I have so many blog ideas in the works but felt like I needed to get the above details out in the open to help make sense. I'm working on getting our ever hectic life more and more organized. It's become almost a fun challenge. At least it helps to lessen the stress to look at it that way :-)

Just typing this all out here has been so cathartic! I've missed you, internet.

I am so saddened to hear that you are now a single mom... I try to stay out of the gossip loop as much as possible, which is mostly a very good thing. In this case I wish I had heard so that I could offer you my thoughts and prayers. As another single mom of 5 kids (and with an oldest child with Asperger's too!), I can tell you with all certainty, that God is good, He will strengthen and sustain you as much as you allow Him to, and it really really really does get better with time.
Blessings to you, my dear. If I can help you in any way, if you just want to talk to someone who has been there or anything, please let me know. I'll definitely be praying for you and the kids.
