Thankful

I'm so thankful today for my husband. He's a better father than I could have ever imagined, and I had some high expectations from how great I saw him with kids before we were married! He became a father and husband at very young age, there was some instant maturing at the ol' age of 20 when he was married and his first child was born, and he has continually sacrificed to be the best he can. We've had some hard times along the way, just like every marriage does, but Jacob has always had a smile on his face, open arms, and love for the kids no matter what was going on.

I'm thankful for how he shows them the same level of enthusiasm that the kids have for him when he walks in the door from work. He makes them feel like he lives for the moment he gets to come home and play.

He's super affectionate and has taught me about the huge impact that affection makes on children feeling loved and accepted. He's always sure to remind the kids of his constant love for them.

He's very patient in listening to the little stories that the kids feel are important to share with him.

He lets Isaac tag along to almost anything he does that is not related to his full-time job, because he understands how important time with Daddy is to Isaac in particular.

He adds a good 20 minutes on to the already long process of mowing our yard by letting them take turns riding on his lap on the riding lawnmower.

He's silly :-) And tries to keep the atmosphere in the house light, fun, and full of laughter.

He plays music for them on his guitar to teach them songs to sing and dance to.

He is an example to our children of a Godly man, living a life of conviction, and walking in Christian character in everything he does.

There are more and more things I could list and today I am so very thankful that God has blessed me with such a wonderful man to be father to our children.
